RAND California Marriage License Statistics contains the number of marriage licenses issued by county and for the state of California from 2006 to the present. It also reports licenses per 1,000 persons in each county and per 1,000 persons ages 20-29. (According to the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the most recently reported median age of first marriage in the U.S. is 27 for men and 25 for women.) Note that the number of licenses issued may not equal the number of marriages that actually occur. NA indicates either that data were not provided or that the number of licenses totaled less than 15. The source for the number of license data is the California Department of Public Health. The source for per capita data is RAND California.
