Number of Crimes in California (Summary Statistics)

This database contains summary statistics for the number of crimes committed, clearances, and clearance rates for California, regions, counties, cities, and other jurisdictions. Also see our Detailed Crime Statistics, which contains 250 crime categories for more than 900 California jurisdictions and areas, and Crime Rates, which contains information on reported crimes per 100,000 persons.

Not all categories are available in all time periods. Crime clearance data begins in 1997. See crime definitions for detailed descriptions. The source for these data is the CA Department of Justice, Justice Statistics Center.
